Rio De Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is a huge coastal city in Brazil, famous for its beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, the statue of Christ the Redeemer 38 m high on the hill of Corcovado and Morro Pan de AzĂșcar, a granite top with cable cars that ascend to its top. The city is also known for its extensive favelas. The raucous Carnival festival, with parades of floats, extravagant costumes and samba dancers, is considered the largest in the world.
